About Gussen
Adam Gussen, a life-long resident of Teaneck, has served in the Teaneck council for 6 years. Adam knows the tough decisions local officials face and how government can be a fundamental partner in helping solve problems. Adam Gussen will be a Congressman that brings sound and prudent judgment back to the 5th district. He has a common sense approach on issues from jobs and the economy to education.
He has twice been elected to Teaneck Council (2006 and 2010) and currently is the Deputy Mayor. He has served as a Library Board Trustee, Planning Board Member and Council Liaison to the Parks, Playgrounds and Recreation Board, as well as various sub-committees on shared services and cost reduction.
Adam graduated from Teaneck High School where he was a scholar and an athlete of distinction. In 1990, Adam was named to the USA Today All American Football Team. Attending Rutgers College on a football scholarship, Adam balanced his studies in economics and sports management with the demands of being a Division I athlete.
Deputy Mayor Gussen is a successful business development executive of Global Political Risk and Trade Credit Insurance for a worldwide firm with its North American headquarters here in New Jersey.
Adam currently lives in Teaneck with his wife Shari-a public school teacher in Bergen County-along with his 5-year-old daughter, Molly, and 3-year-old son, Sidney.
